Torah Casings

When manufacturing Torah casings at Beis Meleches HaKodesh,
we take into account the longtime traditions of Am Yisroel — each group and its singular customs.
We offer a wide range of Torah casings, designed and carved by skillful artisans.
The Torah casing serves to protect and preserve the Torah scroll that it holds,
whilst also beautifying and enhancing the mitzvah.

The Torah casings serve, likewise, as a convenient way of transporting
Torah scrolls from city to city or from one synagogue to another.
All the Torah casings are elongated with a flat base,
allowing them to be placed firmly and securely inside the Aron Kodesh (the Ark),
for a respectable display of the Sifrei Torah (Torah scrolls)
when the Aron Kodesh is open and the scrolls are on view.

Where Tradition and Halacha Converge
Torah cases are manufactured in Beis Meleches HaKodesh by G-d fearing scholars. We have studied the issue and found that great importance is attached to the kind of people who carry out the work. The halachic source to this is in the Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chaim 120). There it is mentioned that a synagogue should not be constructed by a Jew who desecrates the Shabbos. In another place it is mentioned that it is permissible to sell a synagogue in order to finance the purchase of a Torah case. One may deduce a Kal V’Chomer from these two statements. How much more important must it be to ensure that a Torah case is not crafted by someone who does not observe the Shabbos.

At the same time, a person who purchases a Torah scroll also wishes to bring merits to the donors, and should take care, therefore, that the Torah scroll is created in holiness

A Torah Case – Keitzad Merakdim
The Torah cases manufactured by us are particularly lightweight, allowing them to be carried with ease, even on Yom Kippur — while fasting, and for the Simchas Torah dancing, too. Our cases are all crafted out of lightweight Beech wood, or out of fine Mahogany, and their superb workmanship is easy to spot, both inside and outside. Their interiors are made without a velvet lining, but left as finely polished wood instead, to allow for air circulation and to prevent the growth of mold or fungi. In our showroom one can find a wide array of cases in spectacular styles. The cases are superbly finished to an exceptionally high standard. Our collection offers Torah cases adorned with silver etchings, gold trimmings, and combinations of gold, silver and velvet embellishments; Torah cases skilfully hand-crafted out fine Mahogany wood, Torah cases adorned with gold and silver inlaid with semi-precious gemstones, and more.

The saying goes, that G-d is in the details. Indeed, the Torah cases produced by Beis Meleches HaKodesh are crafted with care, and one can easily spot the effort and infinite attention to detail invested in each of our products, every step of the way, turning them, quite literally, into genuine works of art.
A Torah Case for Every Affiliation
We manufacture Torah cases according to varying Jewish traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. The traditions usually refer to the different kinds of materials used, form and style, and the kind of adornments used for the Torah scroll case. The cases built by Beis Meleches HaKodesh have been approved by all Gedolei Yisroel from every group and affiliation, and are purchased by many Jewish communities, both in Israel and abroad.
The Gelilah Star Patent
One may incorporate the Gelilah Star patent in any Torah scroll case manufactured by us. This is a worldwide patent that has been invented according to Jewish law by Beis Meleches HaKodesh and allows for ease of use within the Torah case itself.
